At Visit Your Skyline, our booking terms are written to be understood, not waded through. This page sets out how enquiries become confirmed bookings, how deposits, balances and cancellations work, and how we handle your personal information. It applies to every day tour, round tour and tailor-made itinerary booked with us.
Last updated: January 2026
An enquiry is not a confirmed booking. A booking is confirmed once the itinerary, inclusions, price and travel dates have been agreed in writing and the required deposit has been received.
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing, by email or WhatsApp. The cancellation date is counted from the moment we receive that written notice.
Non-refundable items – including visa processing fees, payment gateway charges, and prepaid non-refundable hotel, train or park bookings – are excluded from any refund calculation regardless of the cancellation window.
Where a full refund isn’t available, or you’d simply prefer to preserve the value of your booking, we can usually offer an alternative:
We always aim to deliver the confirmed itinerary exactly as agreed. Occasionally, arrangements need to be adjusted due to weather, road conditions, park closures, train delays or circumstances beyond our control. Where this happens, we will offer a suitable alternative of equivalent value and experience quality, and will always communicate directly with you rather than leaving your guide to explain it on the ground.
If we need to cancel a confirmed tour for reasons within our control, we will offer a full refund or a 24-month travel credit, whichever you prefer.
We are not responsible for delay or failure to deliver a service caused by events beyond reasonable control – including severe weather, natural disasters, epidemics, strikes, political unrest, border restrictions, government regulations or transport disruption. In these situations, we will make every reasonable effort to offer rescheduling, alternative arrangements or a credit note, but refunds will depend on what we are able to recover from suppliers.
If we need to cancel a confirmed tour for reasons within our control, we will offer a full refund or a 24-month travel credit, whichever you prefer.
Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended for every guest, and effectively required for itineraries involving safari, surfing, trekking, cycling or the scenic train. Your policy should cover medical emergencies, trip cancellation, delays, baggage loss and adventure activities. We are not responsible for costs that travel insurance would otherwise have covered.
If we need to cancel a confirmed tour for reasons within our control, we will offer a full refund or a 24-month travel credit, whichever you prefer.
Please tell us in advance about any medical conditions, mobility needs, allergies, dietary requirements, pregnancy or other considerations that may affect your itinerary, so we can plan around them properly. Activities such as hiking, safari, cycling and water sports carry a degree of natural and physical risk; guests take part at their own discretion and are expected to follow the safety instructions given by guides, drivers and activity providers at all times.
Children are welcome on suitable itineraries. Please share the ages of any children travelling at the enquiry stage, so we can plan routes, accommodation and activities appropriately – some experiences, including certain rock climbs and safari activities, carry age restrictions set by third-party providers.
Guests are expected to behave respectfully towards guides, drivers, accommodation staff, local communities, cultural sites and wildlife, and to follow local laws and safety instructions throughout the journey. We reserve the right to end arrangements without refund where a guest’s conduct is unlawful, abusive, dangerous or puts others at risk.
No elephant riding. No wildlife baiting. All safari and marine experiences are arranged through certified ethical operators, with private jeeps and a dedicated naturalist wherever a park visit is included. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, and we will always tell you honestly what a given experience does and doesn’t promise.
Visit Your Skyline arranges services through carefully selected third-party providers, including hotels, transport operators, activity providers and national park authorities. We take reasonable care in selecting and coordinating these partners, but we are not liable for delays, cancellations, injury, illness or loss caused by circumstances outside our direct control, including supplier failure, weather, road conditions, wildlife behaviour or government action. Our total liability in connection with any confirmed booking is limited to the amount paid for that specific service.
We collect only the personal information needed to plan, book and deliver your journey: your name, contact details, travel dates, group size, accommodation and dietary preferences, and payment confirmation details. This information is collected through our enquiry forms, email, WhatsApp and direct conversation with our team.
If something isn’t right during your journey, please raise it with your guide or driver immediately, so we have the chance to fix it while you’re still on the ground. Any complaint that can’t be resolved during the trip should be sent to us in writing within 14 days of your tour ending. We will acknowledge it within 48 hours and respond in full within 14 days. Where a dispute cannot be resolved through direct discussion, it will be handled under the laws of Sri Lanka.
We may update this page from time to time to reflect changes in our services or in applicable law. The version published on our website at the time of your booking is the one that applies. Continued use of our services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
